How to Use Twitter’s New Search Features

Microblogging platform Twitter overhauled its search this week, making finding users, hashtags and mentions easier.
Twitter’s “simpler search” lets users discover more news in real time. The search updates also let users connect more efficiently. Just think about all the times you’ve input the wrong name or misplaced a letter and subsequently missed out on results.

Amazon Announces Ebooks Now Outsell Print Books in UK

It’s been two years since Kindle launched in the UK, and in celebration Amazon released some interesting statistics.
Amazon UK now sells more ebooks than paperback and hardback print editions combined.
The retailer says for every 100 print books sold, 114 ebooks are purchased. These figures are specific to Amazon.co.uk and don’t factor for print or ebook sales anywhere else online or in physical stores. Even so, the upsurge marks a definite — though not surprising — shift in the publishing world.

Telkom Hit with $54.8 FINE

JOHANNESBURG (AP) -- Regulators fined South African telecommunications company Telkom SA Ltd. $54.8 million on Tuesday for "bullying" its competitors with a monopoly hold on the country's Internet access and other services.

The decision by the Competition Tribunal of South Africa found Telkom charged its competitors high prices for using its Internet services or locked them out, while charging much lower fees to its subsidiaries and its customers. The tribunal looked at Telkom's business practices from 1999 to 2004 in making its decision.
